Welcome to Blindworm: German Lessons (“the App”). Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

To provide and improve our services, we collect the following limited data:

  • Authentication Data: When you log in using your Google Account, we receive your basic profile information (such as your email address and name) via secure authentication protocols. This information is used to create and maintain your secure user account within our database provider, Supabase.
  • User-Generated Content: We store the flashcard decks you create within the App.
  • App Usage & Performance Metrics: We record the ratings of your completed flashcard decks to track your learning progress and help optimize your study sessions.
  • Feedback and Support Data: We store any reports, feedback, or support tickets you voluntarily submit within the App.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely for the operation and optimization of the App, specifically to:

  • Authenticate your identity and manage your personal account.
  • Save, load, and manage your custom flashcard decks.
  • Track your personal learning milestones and performance.
  • Review and resolve technical issues or user reports.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share any user data with third parties. Your data is strictly used internal to the App’s functionality.

The only third-party infrastructure involved is Supabase, which provides our secure database storage, and Google, which provides the secure single sign-on (SSO) login service. Both parties process data strictly in accordance with modern security practices.

4. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We believe that you should have complete control over your personal information:

  • Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time directly through the App’s settings menu.
  • Complete Data Erase: Upon deleting your account, all associated data—including your profile information, created flashcard decks, ratings, and submitted reports—will be permanently and irreversibly deleted from our Supabase database.

5. Security

We take reasonable, industry-standard administrative and technical measures (such as encrypted database connections and secure OAuth 2.0 authentication) to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this page or via an in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the new policy.
