Welcome to Blindworm: German Lessons (“the App”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our mobile application. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.


1. Account Registration and Security

  • Google Login: To use the App, you must log in via your Google Account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • Account Responsibility: You are entirely responsible for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

2. Acceptable Use and Prohibited Conduct

To ensure a safe, secure, and fair environment for all users, you explicitly agree not to engage in any of the following prohibited activities:

  • No False Reporting: You must not abuse the in-app reporting system. Submitting intentionally false, malicious, or misleading reports or support requests is strictly prohibited.
  • No Data Scraping: You are strictly prohibited from using automated systems, software, bots, or scripts to scrape, extract, or harvest any data from the App, including but not limited to flashcard decks, dictionary data, and user content.
  • No External API or Database Abuse: You must only interact with our database (Supabase) and backend systems through the official, unmodified interface of the App. You are strictly forbidden from attempting to access, manipulate, or use our APIs, database services, or endpoints via external tools, custom scripts, postman requests, or any outside software.
  • No Denial of Service (DoS): You must not engage in any activity that disrupts, degrades, overburdens, or impairs the operational functionality of our servers, networks, or database infrastructure (including denial-of-service attacks).

3. Intellectual Property

  • App Content: All text, graphics, logos, dictionary data, UI design, and source code within the App are the property of Blindworm: German Lessons or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.
  • User Content: You retain ownership of the flashcard decks you create. However, by creating content within the App, you grant us the technical license to host, store, and display that data strictly as required to provide the app’s services to you.

4. Termination of Service

We reserve the right, without prior notice and at our sole discretion, to suspend or permanently terminate your access to the App and delete your data if we believe you have violated any provision of these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or illegal activity, or pose a security risk to our infrastructure.

5. Disclaimers (“As Is”)

The App is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the accuracy of translation data, learning outcomes, app uptime, or that the App will be completely free of bugs or errors. Your use of the App is at your own risk.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the creator of Blindworm: German Lessons shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, learning progress, or profits arising out of your use or inability to use the App.

7. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make changes, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after modifications are posted signifies your agreement to the updated Terms.
